BIFROST.ENTRIES

Returns the individual transactions behind a value, as a spill range.

Syntax

=BIFROST.ENTRIES(formulaName, [param1], [param2], …)

The arguments are the same as BIFROST.LEDGER. Swapping one call for the other on the same formula and the same arguments is the intended way to see what a number is made of.

It spills

The result is a range, not a single value. Enter it in one cell and Excel fills the rows and columns below and to the right. The first row is the column headers.

If the space is occupied, Excel shows #SPILL! — clear the cells in the way. Because the number of rows depends on the data, avoid placing anything directly beneath an Entries formula.

The rows always reconcile

An Entries view is stored on the same formula as its Ledger aggregate, and uses the same filters and the same period logic. The rows therefore add up to the value you drilled from — that is guaranteed by construction, not by convention.

Which columns appear, their order and labels, any sorting, grouping and subtotals are configured per formula under Formulas → Entries in the portal. Those settings change how the rows are presented; they never change which rows are selected.

Row limits

A view can cap how many rows it returns. If a drilldown looks short, check the row cap on that formula's Entries configuration before assuming data is missing.

If the rows do not match

Tell us at support@bifrostledger.com, with both formulas as they appear in the cells. Entries not reconciling to its Ledger value is the one thing here that should never happen, so we want to hear about it immediately. See also the support page.
